Nic Sanders is an experienced award-winning marketer and lecturer specialising in integrated marketing communication, retail, brands, customer experience and promotional marketing. His research interests are in all branches of retail marketing, as well as consumer and shopper behaviour.

Dr Michiel Scheffer was born in a textile family: his father was a textile chemist with ICI, his mother a textile designer in the Lancashire textile industry. Scheffer studied economic geography in Utrecht and at LSE, and wrote a PhD thesis on globalisation of the fashion industry. 

From 1991 to 2000, he worked as Director for Economic Affairs at the Dutch Fashion Industry Association, Modint. Scheffer has held several professorships in fashion and in international economics in Paris (IFM), Amsterdam (AMFI), Enschede, Kleve and Wuhan. 

Currently, he is Project Manager for Sustainable Textiles at the Wageningen University & Research (WUR). Scheffer is also Chairman of the Dutch Investment Deal in Professional Education, and Chairman of the Cultural heritage and Climate Change Fund, on behalf of the Dutch Minister for Education, Culture and Science.

Sebastian Schmidt, Advisor - Sustainable Economic Development at GIZ, is a business administration professional dedicated to sustainable economic development and employment promotion. Working with GIZ (German Development Agency) in Morocco on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) within the Invest-for-Jobs programme, he focuses on various initiatives, including fostering circular economy practices within the textile industry.

Sagarika Sengupta is Consultant with the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER).

A textile technologist with over four decades of industry experience, SUKETU SHAH, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vishal Fabrics, is widely recognised for his expertise in denim manufacturing, integrated production systems, and strategic industry development.

Equipped with a BSc and a Diploma in Textile Chemistry from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, where he was awarded a gold medal for academic excellence, he has been instrumental in driving growth and innovation across several leading companies in leadership roles at LNJ Denim – RSWM Group, Mafatlal Industries Limited, Aarvee Denims & Exports Ltd, APAC Inti Corpora Bawen (Indonesia), Raymond UCO Denim Pvt Ltd., Modern Denim Ltd, and Arvind Limited.

Throughout his tenure, he has demonstrated exceptional strategic acumen, contributing significantly to business expansion and operational excellence.

KD SHARMA is the founder of HimGra, a Himalayan natural fibre innovation focused on climate-aligned materials, traceability, and rural livelihoods. His work bridges material science, sustainable supply chains, and luxury textile applications.

HimGra is among the few revolutionising sustainable fashion through its zero-cultivation carbon footprint fibre and waterless mechanical fibre extraction technology. HimGra has been validated by IIT Mandi Catalyst, Fashion for Good, and leading global brands, and was recently recognised as an awardee of the Hindu Kush Himalaya Innovation Challenge for Entrepreneurship.

Based out of Dehra Dun in India, this techno-commercial turned livelihood-promotion, natural resource management and training & capacity building professional has worked for those at the bottom of the pyramid. This involves work for ‘Dev Ethical & Sustainable Crafts and Textiles’ www.descatuk.com online portal providing marketing support to artisans to sell their products online.

His experience spans different sectors of the textile industry at the mid and senior management level in reputed textile mills of India like Vardhman, DCM, Shamken Multifab, Jersey India, Dinesh Mills, Shingora Textiles to name a few. Bottom of Form

Deirdre Shaw is Professor Consumer Ethics and Sustainability at the University of Glasgow Adam Smith Business School. She has researched the area of consumption ethics throughout her career, publishing on the subject in a range of international journals, including, British Journal of Management, Work, Employment and Society, Journal of Consumer Culture, Psychology and Marketing, Journal of Business Ethics, Marketing Theory, European Journal of Marketing, Business History, Journal of Marketing Management, Sustainable Development; contributing to books and non-academic publications and giving invited talks and supervising PhD researchers in this area.

Yun Shen completed her PhD in Applied Finance at the University of South Australia in September 2020. Since completing the PhD, she has held consecutive research-intensive appointments that have allowed me to build an independent research portfolio. Her research spans corporate finance, ESG disclosure, CEO characteristics, corporate scandals and fraud, default risk, and anti-money laundering. She has published over 15 peer-reviewed journal articles, including in high-quality journals such as Accounting & Finance, Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal, and Celebrity Studies.
 

Kelly Sherridan is a Senior Lecturer and consultant forensic scientist at Northumbria University, UK. Prior to joining Northumbria Kelly spent many years as a Senior Forensic Reporting Officer at LGC Forensics (now Eurofins). During this time, she dealt with cases ranging from routine burglaries to high profile murder cases and has given evidence in court on numerous occasions.

Currently, she is chair of the UK Fibre Forum, which she founded in 2016, and serves on the committee of the ENFSI European Textile and Hair Group (ETHG) working group since 2017. Kelly also works with police forces, training CSI's and scientific support staff to improve their awareness and raise the profile of trace evidence in criminal investigations.

Kelly’s research is primarily casework driven based upon her experiences as a forensic scientist and from current issues in the field. Its focus is on the analysis and discrimination of trace evidence, its transfer and persistence mechanisms, and how such data can be used in the evaluation of evidence. More recently, her research interests have expanded to include the environmental impact of microfibres/plastics.

Dr Alexandra Sherlock is a lecturer in the School of Fashion and Textiles at RMIT University with expertise in the study of footwear. In 2021 Alex founded the Footwear Research Network to support the ongoing development of academic enquiries into shoes and to enhance research impact and industry collaboration.
